• The National Home Inspector Examination® is the most difficult exam to pass for the home inspection profession. Many equate the NHIE Exam with the bar exam for attorneys. It has a 60% fail rate, and is widely regarded as the gold standard in our industry. I’m very proud to display the NHIE credential. While most state exams are 50 questions, the NHIE is 200 questions drawn from a pool of over 6000 questions (not open book). If you fail, and have to take the exam more than once, you won’t get the same test the second or third times.
• Passing NHIE is required in 35 US states (Including Alabama) and several Canadian provinces for home inspector licensing regulation.
• It is the only independent, psychometrically-sound home inspector exam in the United States that has also achieved independent accreditation.
